The Ministry Of Forests Requires Invasive Plant Management Services For High Priority Invasive Plant Occurrences Throughout The Okanagan Similkameen Regional District (Attachment 1 Os Boundary Map). The Successful Proponent Will Conduct Invasive Plant Management Within This Area On Ministry Of Forests (Mof) And Ministry Of Transportation (Mott) Jurisdiction On Invasive Plant Sites Listed In Attachments 2A And 2B For Redrr Site List And 3A And 3B Mott Redrr Site List. Work Will Include Completing A Survey And Chemical And/Or Mechanical Treatments At Each Invasive Plant Site Including Highway And Natural Resource Road Rights-Of-Ways, Forest Openings, Gravel Pits And Rangelands. Treatments Shall Be Completed Using The Most Efficacious, Longest Lasting, Cost-Effective And Site-Suitable Treatment Method Available For Each Site And Species, Including Consideration Of Residual, Selective Herbicides Where Legislation Permits, And Mechanical Methods For Species That Respond Well To Mechanical Controls For Small Sites, Or Where Herbicides Are Not Permitted For Use. Where Mechanical Treatments Are Used, Care Must Be Taken To Ensure No Viable Seeds And/Or Reproductive Plant Parts Are Released And Bagged Invasive Plants Must Be Disposed Of At The Nearest Landfill Or Transfer Station Accepting Invasive Plant Materials. Proponents Must Be Familiar With All Requirements Of The Applicable Legislation Including The Bc Integrated Pest Management Act, The Relevant Pest Management Plan (Pmp); Invasive Plant Pest Management Plan For Provincial Public Lands In Southern And Coastal British Columbia (For-Sbc-Pmp-2024-2029) (Pdf, 1Mb) As Well As All Label Requirements For All Active Ingredients Listed On The Pmp. All Personnel Applying Herbicide Must Hold Valid Pesticide Applicators Certificates Or Assistant Applicators Certificates As Required By The Bc Integrated Pest Management Act And Regulation, For Herbicide Application On Public Lands For Invasive Plant Management And Be Operating Under A Valid Service Licence. The Proponent Must Demonstrate The Ability To Complete Contract Deliverables Independently, Ensure All Applicable Laws Are Followed, And Determine The Appropriate Treatment Method For Each Site. The Term Of The Agreement Will Be From The Time Of Signing To March 31St, 2027, Inclusive. This Contract Contains An Option To Renew With Up To Two Additional 1-Year Terms At The Sole Discretion Of The Province. The Successful Proponent Will Be Expected To Retain The Same Level Of Expertise, Equipment And Resources As Outlined In The Proposal Throughout The Entire Term Of The Contract.
