v10sø26 Søndre Katland - Fire House - Rehabilitation Of Walls And Roof, Sealing Of Leaks . Descriptionsøndre Katland Lighthouse Is Located Approximately 5 Km From Farsund. There Is A Beacon In The Approach To Farsund And The Port Of Departure Loshavn. The Lighthouse Is Very Exposed To The Weather And Has A Poor Harbour. The Lighthouse Was Built In Concrete At The Same Time As Grønningen Lighthouse Outside Kristiansand, Both Were Commissioned On 01 September 1878. The Roof Of The Lighthouse Keepers Residence Is Made Of Large Square Slabs Of Slate Stone 1X1m. The Stones Are Jointed Between Them With Concrete Mortar. The Joint Compound Has Started To Smear And It Is Leaking Between The Joints. The Fitting Above The Gable Wall Is Too Short And Must Be Replaced To Ensure A Better Seal Between The Wall And Roof Transition, Leaks Were Observed At The Gable Wall Under The Roof. The Door Until The Lantern Is Rusted Through. This Must Be Sealed To Prevent Water Ingress Up To The Lantern Housing. There Are A Number Of Cracks In The Concrete Walls And Rust Drains On The Walls And The Cracks Must Be Plastered And Sealed.
