Supporting Services For The Government – Generation And Recycling Of Packaging Waste In Germany In 2024 And 2025. The European Packaging Directive Obliges Member States To Report On The Generation And Recycling Of Packaging Waste. The Project Is Intended To Collect The Data Required For Reporting In Accordance With The Packaging Directive For The Reporting Years 2024 And 2025 And To Provide It In A Form Suitable For Reporting. For The Survey, The Most Current Existing Requirements Of The Packaging Directive And Its Implementing Acts Should Be Taken Into Account When Collecting And Providing Data. The 2024 Reporting Year Is Based On The “Commission Decision Of March 22, 2005 Determining The Table Formats For The Database In Accordance With Directive 94/62/Ec Of The European Parliament And Of The Council On Packaging And Packaging Waste,” Last Amended By Implementing Decision (Eu) 2019/665 Of April 17, 2019. The Calculation Points Set Out In Annex Ii To The Implementing Decision Must Be Taken Into Account For The Calculation. The Figures Should Also Be Used To Calculate The Quantities Of Non-Recycled Plastic Packaging Waste, Which Form The Basis For The Eus Own Resources In Accordance With Decision 2020/2053 Ec. The Project Must Comply With The Requirements Of The Packaging Directive And The Data For Own Resources. This Means That, For Example, Sufficient Transparency And Comprehensible Determination Of The Required Data And Quality Assurance Of The Data Are Necessary. The Procedure Must Be Coordinated With The Federal Environment Agency Before The Surveys Begin. Part Of The Project Includes Updating The Inventory, Filling Out Eurostats Questionnaires On Reporting Obligations Including Quality Reports And Providing Support In Answering Questions From The European Commission. The European Commission Is Expected To Carry Out An Inspection Visit To Germany In 2026 Or 2027, During Which It Must Be Proven That European Requirements Are Being Complied With When Collecting And Processing Data On Non-Recycled Plastic Packaging. The Contractors Must Prepare The Inspection Visit, Present The Methodology And Data During The Visit And Answer Questions (Including After The Inspection Visit). If Any Changes Or Additions To The Inventory Or Survey Are Identified During Or After The Inspection Visit, These Must Be Implemented By The Contractors In A Timely Manner. If The European Commission Requires Additional Data Or Information On The Data For 2024, 2025 Or Previous Years, This Must Be Provided. Additional Work May Be Required.
