The Data From The Annual Inspections Of The Rivers By The Interdepartmental Commission Appointed By Order Of The Mayor Indicate That Some Of The Rivers Are Not In The Best Condition Given The Presence Of A Disturbed Profile Of The River Bed, As A Result Of Overgrown Vegetation And Accumulated Silt And Silt. The Overgrown Vegetation (Grass, Shrubs And Trees), Together With Shoots And Stumps, Disrupts The Hydraulic Conductivity, Which Is A Real Prerequisite For The Occurrence Of Floods At High Water Levels. To Prevent Critical Situations, Adequate Measures Should Be Implemented To Maintain The Riverbeds. Such Measures Are: Removal Of Accumulated Silt And Silt, Grass, Shrub And Coppice Vegetation And Individual Trees Together With Their Stumps. 12 Rivers With A Total Length Of 46 Km And 27 Ravines With A Total Length Of 80 Km Pass Through The Urbanized Territories Of The Municipality Of Sliven. The Rivers In The City Of Sliven (Dyuleva, Novoselska, Selishka And Asenovska) And The Villages Of Byala (Belenska And Marinkina), Novachevo (Sasa Dere), Rakovo And Ichera (Luda Kamchia) Have A Built-In Correction.
