Road Construction Works – Climate-Resilient Design Of The Outdoor Areas At The School Center. The City Of Rahden Is Planning To Redesign The Schoolyard At The School Center With A New Quality Of Stay. Due To Separate Cost Bearers, The List Of Services Is Divided Into The Following Two Titles, Which Are Only Used For Separate Billing: 1. Ba: Urban Development Funding 2. Ba: Climate Adaptation Guidelines The School Center Was Expanded By An Extension To The Secondary School And The Construction Of An Auditorium. The Existing Schoolyard Was Largely Dismantled And Will Be Extensively Redesigned With Various Lounge And Exercise Zones. The Secondary School Extension Extends Centrally Over The Former Schoolyard And Spatially Separates It Into Two Schoolyard Areas. A Path Connection, Which Forms A Quarter Circle Around The Buildings In The North, Remains As A Link Between The Two New Schoolyard Areas. The Area Between The Annex And The High School Has A Height Difference Of Around 1 M. This Is Used Creatively To Divide The Schoolyard Area Of The High School Into Two Spatial Levels. The Higher Area, Which Runs Along The High School Building, Will Be Designed As A Platform With A New Quality Of Stay (Wooden Decks, Ground Trampolines, Table Tennis). The Deeper Level Of The Schoolyard Is Created As A Water-Bound Path With Opportunities For Movement And Play. Climbing And Balancing Activities Made From Wooden And Rope Play Equipment Are Planned Here. The Difference In Height Is Overcome By A Curved Bed Along A Natural Stone Wall. The Wall Runs In A Snail Shape To The North-East And Ends As A Lower Seating Area Made Of Natural Stone Blocks. On The Eastern Schoolyard Area In Front Of The Art Rooms Of The High School, The Existing Seating System Made Of Concrete Blocks Will Be Expanded. These Are Covered With Wooden Planking. The Existing Tire Swing Will Be Refurbished And Repositioned. The Surface Paving Is Planned As A Water-Bound Path Surface. In The Schoolyard Area Of The Secondary School (West Of The Extension) There Is An Inner Courtyard That Is Framed By The Building Wings And The Auditorium And Is Being Prepared As A Green Classroom. A Gravel Base Layer Was Installed In The Inner Courtyard In Advance As Part Of Canal Work. This Must Be Re-Profiled And Approx. 30 Cm Removed In The Area Of The Planned Beds. The Central Design Element Is A Round Seating Area Made Of Natural Stone Blocks. The Inner Courtyard Can Only Be Accessed Via A Crane. There Is No Other Option To Transport Materials Into The Courtyard. The Area North Of The Auditorium Is Divided Into A Play And Exercise Area With Multifunctional Seating And Exercise Equipment Such As Hammocks And Balancing Trunks. The Main Element Is A Long Bank Of Waves. Spacious Flowerbed Areas Are Planned In The Schoolyard. Some Of These Are Provided With Plant Substrate. The Remaining Beds Are Covered With Topsoil. For Location-Appropriate Development
