The Concept Sketch Developed By The School Community In 2024 Envisages An Attractive, Natural Outdoor Area With Maximum Diversity In Material And Function, Which Meets Both Educational And Social Requirements As Well As Aspects Of Climate Adaptation. It Provides Opportunities For Outdoor Lessons And Environmental Education As Well As A Variety Of Play, Exercise And Recreation/Retreat Opportunities. The Concept Was Already Converted Into A Preliminary Draft Plan (Vpu) In 2025, Which Forms The Binding Basis For Further Planning. The Aim Is To Develop The Site As A “Sponge City Schoolyard” With A Model Character For The Entire District. A Central Aspect Of Open Space Planning Is The Decoupling Of The Existing Roof Drainage From The Sewer System. The Rainwater From The Roof Areas Should Be Collected And Used To Irrigate The Outdoor Areas. A Feasibility Study For Rainwater Management, Together With The Results Of The Preliminary Design Planning, Forms The Binding Basis For Further Ecologically Oriented Planning Of The Schoolyard Redesign.
