Software Supply Services - Purchase Of Ai Mammography Solution For Region Southern Denmark And Region Central Jutland - Retender No. 2. The Tender Concerns The Purchase Of An Ai Mammography Solution For Region Southern Denmark And Region Central Jutland, Respectively. It Is An It System. As Far As Region Central Jutland Is Concerned, It Is Only An Option. Region Central Jutland Can Thus Choose Or Not To Use The Option Of Purchasing An Ai Mammography Solution. As A Result Of An Increased Population And Increasing Average Age In The Population, An Increase In The Incidence Of Breast Cancer Is Seen In Denmark. An Increase From Approx. 4,800 In 2024 To Approx. 5310 Cases Of Breast Cancer In 2028. Early Detection With Breast Cancer Screening And Treatment According To Best Practice Are Considered Crucial Elements For Reducing Breast Cancer-Related Mortality And Morbidity In Women. The Screening Program For Breast Cancer In Region Southern Denmark Annually Carries Out Approx. 70,000 Screenings. In Addition, Approx. 17,000 Clinical Mammography Examinations. It Is Expected That Approx. 10% Of Clinical Mammography Examinations Are Performed As Tomosynthesis. In The Case Of Region Central Jutland, Approx. 65,000 Screenings And Approx. 15,000 Clinical Mammography Examinations. Each Screening Examination Consists Of 4 X-Rays, 2 Standard Projections Per Breast. In The Case Of Previous Breast Cancer And Breast-Conserving Surgery, A Third Projection Is Added. Today, Every Single X-Ray Is Scrutinized By Two Independent Mammary Radiologists. If There Is Disagreement, The Images Are Reviewed In A 3Rd Review. There Is Generally An Increasing Demand For Breast Diagnostics. Blue. An Increasing Number Of Patients Are Referred For Investigation In Package Procedures For Breast Cancer As A Result Of An Increase In The Screening Population As Well As New Investigation And Treatment Options. At The Same Time As The Increasing Need For Mammography Examinations, There Is A Nationwide Challenge With A Shortage Of Mammary Radiologists. Artificial Intelligence (Ai) Solutions Based On The Deep Learning Technique Have In Recent Years Shown Great Progress In Medical Image Analysis, Particularly With Regard To The Detection Of Breast Cancer On Mammograms. The Offered Ai Solution Is To Be Implemented At Region Southern Denmarks Four Hospital Units (Odense University Hospital, Lillebælt Hospital, Sønderjylland Hospital And Esbjerg/Grindsted Hospital) That Carry Out Mammography Examinations. The Purpose Of The Acquisition Of An Ai Mammography Solution Is Therefore • To Ensure That The National Requirements For Breast Cancer Screening Can Be Maintained Going Forward, And • To Free Up Mammary Radiologist Resources For Other Tasks In Connection With Breast Cancer Detection. The Solution Must Thus Be Able To Relieve The First Examiner In The Mammography Screening Program As Well As Provide Decision Support In The Clinical Mammography. If Region Central Jutland Were To Exercise The Option, The Solution At Region Central Jutland Would Have To Be Installed At The Following Hospital Units: Aarhus University Hospital, Regionshospitalet Viborg And Regionshospitalet Randers.
