Refrigeration System Reconstruction Condenser Replacement . The Regional District Is Seeking Proposals From A Qualified Contractors To Replace The Existing Bac Vc1-205 Evaporative Condenser With A Plate And Frame Condenser And Fluid Cooler At The Gibsons And Area Community Center (Gacc) Located At 700 Park Rd, Gibsons Bc. The Existing Evaporative Condenser Was Installed During The Original Construction Of The Facility In 2007 And Has Reached The End Of Its Service Life. This Project Will Include Related Equipment And Systems Such As Pumps, Valves, Piping, Controls, Wiring And Ddc System Upgrades. The Current Underfloor Heating System And Snow Melt System Ammonia/Brine Heat Exchangers Are To Be Removed With These Systems Being Connected To The Glycol Side Of The New Plate And Frame Condenser. To Reduce Impacts Of The Project On The Regular Scheduled Operations Of The Facility Construction Is Required To Occur During The Non-Ice Season Scheduled For May 19 To July 22, 2026. The Regional District Desires A Project Approach That Will Minimize Impact On Facility Users And Staff. Proponents Are Encouraged To Look For Creative Solutions To Deliver A Cost-Effective Quality Installation While Minimizing Impacts To The Regular Operations Of The Facility. The Regional Districts Budget For This Project Is $1,015,000. The Project Objectives That The Contractor Needs To Achieve For The Successful Completion Of This Project Is As Follows: 1. Reduce System Ammonia Charge Through Replacement Of The Existing Evaporative Condenser With A Plate And Frame Condenser And Fluid Cooler. 2. Ensure Refrigeration System Capacity Is Sufficient For 12-Month Ice Operations And Considers Increasing Temperature Extremes Due To Climate Change. 3. Increase Operating Efficiency Through The Use Variable Frequency Drives And Or Other Technologies. 4. Complete Project Construction During The Regularly Scheduled Non-Ice Season. 5. Minimize Project Timeline And Impact On Facility Users And Staff. An Optional Site Meeting Will Be Held On November 27, 2025 At 1:00 Pm Local Time At 700 Park Rd, Gibsons Bc. Proponents Need To Rsvp By Email Before November 26, 2025 By Noon To Purchasing; If No Rsvps Are Received Then The Site Meeting Will Be Cancelled.
