Tenders are invited for Development Works for the 1,815 Ha Watershed Adjacent to the Gifurwe Irrigation Perimeter (585 Ha), including Protection and Stabilization of the Riverbeds Supplying Irrigation Water Bid Security Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the following amounts: Lot 2: 285,600,000 BIF or equivalent in freely convertible currency; 2. Scope of Work The National Project Management Unit (UGP) invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the development works of three watersheds totaling 9,199 ha adjacent to three irrigation perimeters in Bujumbura Province. The watershed restoration measures include the following activities: Awareness raising among inhabitants of the watersheds, organization, and capacity building of watershed management committees; Identification of priority beneficiaries (based on limited access to poverty reduction factors and physical ability to participate in labor-intensive works following the HIMO approach); Progressive terracing and agroforestry; Live agroforestry hedges; Afforestation; Reforestation of ridges and barren lands; Protection of riverbeds and tributaries by planting bamboo; Correction of gullies and landslides through bamboo plantation installations. Purchase of Bidding Documents The bidding document in French may be purchased by interested bidders upon submission of a written application and payment of a non-refundable fee of one million Burundian francs (1,000,000 BIF) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. Payment method: Half (500,000 BIF) to the State non-tax revenue transit account No. 1101/001.04 at the Bank of the Republic of Burundi (BRB), and Half (500,000 BIF) to account No. 21667120102-24 at BANCOBU, in the name of Counterpart/BRIDEP.
