    Contract Award For HRZ, New Data Center ETH Zurich

    The New Building Of The HRZ Data Center On The Hönggerberg Campus Houses Communication, Storage And Server Systems Of The IT Services And The Departments. The Useful Power Of The System Rooms Is Around 900 Kw. The Hybrid Construction (Supporting Structure Made Of Wood, Facade And Basement Made Of Concrete) And The Column-Free Server Rooms Enable The Greatest Possible Flexibility In The Placement Of The Servers. A Pipeline Accesses The HRZ. The 5-Story Building Has A Building Volume Of Approximately 24,000 M3. The Floor Area Is Around 4,500 M2. The Server Rooms Are Cooled Using Adiabatic Air-Air Heat Exchangers. The HRZ Is Developed Redundantly. Construction Will Take Place During Ongoing Campus Operations. Special Requirements Relating To Construction Emissions And Construction Site Traffic Must Be Taken Into Account. The Materialization Is Based As Much As Possible On Ecological Criteria. The Construction Site Is In An Inventoried Environment.
