With a global initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to achieve carbon neutrality, realization of a hydrogen economy rose as the key for energy and industrial transition. An important path to create firm basis of the hydrogen economy in developing economies is bringing standardization of hydrogen and fuel cell technology into full account and building capacity through regional collaboration. This project will strengthen the cooperation among APEC economies, share the best- practices of the leading economies and professional knowledge on a hydrogen economy to public officials from developing economies, and expand discussions of standardization of hydrogen and fuel cell products and technologies to contribute to achieving a net-zero society and sustainable hydrogen economy in the Asia-Pacific region. This project will launch a workshop on ‘Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Standardization, Certification, Law, and System- building’ among APEC economies in Korea on November 2024 and on April 2025 respectively. |
