As part of the More Sustainable priority of the 2024 FMP Work Plan, Peru proposes to host, on the margins of the Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting, an in-person workshop on the opportunities, financial challenges, and approaches of alternative technologies for sound sustainable energy transitions. The objectives of this project are to: 1) understand technological innovations solutions for sustainable energy transitions, 2) discuss opportunities for investment in renewable energy such as low-carbon hydrogen and other emerging alternative technologies to achieve a clean energy matrix focus on some sectors, 3) discuss how to catalyze finance for the clean energy transitions in APEC member economies, and 4) share good practices and experiences on how economies are catalyzing financing for supporting the clean energy transitions in their sectors.
APEC economies, international organizations and other stakeholders will be invited as speakers and participants during panel discussions and presentations during the workshop. Following the workshop, a short compendium of experiences and lessons learned, identified in this activity, as well as through the completion of a survey, will be prepared. |
