This first intervention, amounting to 11.5 MEUR, places entrepreneurs and agricultural businesses (MSMEs) active in the three targeted sectors (pineapple, potato and mango) at the center of the actions that will be implemented. All attention will be focused on their professionalization and on the opportunities offered by a more direct link with the market as a source of development of their activities and job generation. An important focus will be placed on strengthening their technical-economic and financial capacities as well as on improving the business environment. All of this will take into account the specificities of each of the sectors, their respective degree of development as well as the mandate and roles of the different bodies in charge of the development of the sectors. Many specialized actors and service providers will be involved in the implementation of the various financial and non-financial support in order to best meet the identified needs. These actions also intend to consolidate the initiatives of the bilateral start-up program (notably the agricultural development and drinking water components) currently being implemented in the Kindia/Mamou area.
