The region east of Afghanistans capital Kabul is regularly hit by floods. In the past, Welthungerhilfe implemented disaster control measures; these are now being expanded. The rehabilitated irrigation canal and the newly built gabbion wall will be expanded and lengthened. There is also an offer specifically aimed at women: they receive chickens and appropriate training on the subject of chicken rearing. In this way they can earn their own small income or at least make their families menu more varied. |
