Project Name Oylat Hydroelectric Power Plant
Project Detail Oylat Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) (from now called Project and/or Oylat HEPP) is a run-of river type power generating plant that will be constructed on the Oylat River. Project site is located in Province of Bursa, Inegol district in the Marmara Region. Project investor is a private enterprise, ETKEN Elektrik Enerji Uretim Ltd.Sti. Oylat HEPP project received a 49-year production license from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EMRA) on 13 March 2008. Water use agreement was signed between ETKEN Ltd. Sti. and the Directorate of Hydraulic Resources (DSI) of the Government of Turkey on 29 January 2008. On 27 Aug 2010, project received an “Environmental Impact Assessment Not Required” statement from the Ministry of Forestry and Environment following the preparation of a “Project Introduction File” in compliance with the Turkish Environmental Impact Assessment Law. Oylat HEPP will have two weirs. One is on the Oylat River and the other is on the side branch of the Oylat River, called Kazmut Stream. Weir on the Kazmut Stream (from now on will be called Side Weir) will divert water from Kazmut Stream to Oylat River. Side Weir has 588.7 m thalveg elevation; 590.0 m crest elevation and 592.0 m leveling elevation. Diverted water from Kazmut River will be conveyed to the main weir via a pipeline with a length of 115 m. Main weir is located on the Oylat River at the 569.0 m thalveg elevation. Water from the main weir will be taken to a penstock by a water intake structure. Penstock will have a length of 1102.60 m and will transmit water to the Powerhouse. At the Powerhouse, water will be passed through two Horizontal Axis Francis type turbines; then will be released back to the Oylat River through the tailwater channel. Each turbine will have an installed capacity of 0.969 MW (0.95 MWe). Total installed capacity of the project will be 1.938 MW (1.9 MWe). Oylat HEPP will generate 8.084 GWh amount of electricity per year. Generated energy will be transmitted to the Gunduzlu Kok substation via a 6 km length transmission line. Gunduzlu Kok substation is the connection point to the National Grid system.
