The final goal of the geothermal project in Dominica is the construction of a power generation unit with a potential capacity of 110-120 MW. The production would be domestic for 20 MW and intended for export to the Guadeloupe and Martinique regions, up to 40 MW each. The export will be made through underwater interconnections, Dominica being located less than 50km from the two French regions. An exploratory drilling campaign was financed (in subsidy) by AFD, the French Global Environment Facility (FFEM) and the European Union and was completed in 2012. Installed capacity: 100-120 MW
