Tenders are invited for High Spatial Resolution Thermal Infrared Dispersive Spectrometer. TIR Push-broom dispersive spectrometers have been identified as an interesting alternative solution to Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS) for trace gases detection as benefiting from recent progress in infrared matrix detectors and grating technologies. Such instrument concept has thus the potential to provide high spatial resolution with an overall simpler instrument layout compared to FTS, which requires complex mechanism and moving parts, metrology unit and processing, as well as having high data rate. Furthermore, the dispersive spectrometer is free of spectral and spatial mixing of information during the data acquisitions. While there is goodheritage in Europe with push-broom dispersive spectrometers, none has been developed for space applications in the mid and long wave infrared spectral range. The activity proposes therefore to study and develop a dispersive imaging spectrometer prototype to demonstrate a level of performance compatible with high resolution Thermal Infrared (TIR) imaging spectrometry. The objective of the activity is to design and prototype the TIR dispersive imaging spectrometer with the intention to demonstrate key performances and assess critical aspects such as the spectral resolution, the sensitivity to straylight, the thermal stability and radiometric performance.
