The aim of the project is to improve the nutritional condition of the population of 144 villages in the health districts of Garango and Tenkodogo, Center Est region, Burkina Faso. The objectives and results pursued by the project mirror the strategy described above: - Reduce the incidence of childhood malnutrition. It aims in particular to promote an integrated approach to the management of prevention, diagnosis and treatment services at village level through the active participation of rural communities and the strengthening of the capacities of the public health service - Improving and diversifying the diet of rural families . The expected result is in terms of dissemination of good nutrition-sensitive family farming practices already successfully tested in previous interventions: horticulture, fish farming, NFP production, dissemination of improved varieties of rice with greater nutritional value. - Increase access to monetary income by rural women. In this regard, action will be taken on two complementary supply chains traditionally managed by rural women: the processing of rice for sale on local markets and the agri-food processing of NFPs oriented towards national and international markets. |
