Work Detail In Madagascar, 1.48 million children do not attend primary school. The causes are mainly linked to the weaknesses of the education system and the precariousness of the family environment in which they operate. The project, currently in its phase 2, is based on a partnership dynamic and on the achievements of phase 1 to provide a global response to the issue of the dropout of vulnerable children. For this, Asmae and its local partners AIC and Betania have set themselves three main objectives: Improve educational and social integration mechanisms for vulnerable children. Support actions carried out by parents and community actors in favor of the educational and social integration of children. Strengthen their positioning and visibility with institutions to promote the anchoring and sustainability of the project. NGO Asmae is a French NGO created in 1980 by Sister Emmanuelle. Present in 6 countries (Egypt, Lebanon, Philippines, Madagascar, Burkina Faso and France), Asmae aims to support vulnerable children and their families through tailor-made support for local actors. In Madagascar since 2001, Asmae supports a dozen local partners and benefits from expertise in education and child protection. PARTNERS Association Internationale des Charités (AIC) Anosizato, an association under Malagasy law created in 1996 which intervenes in favor of disadvantaged families in the field of education (preschool and literacy), the promotion of women and in individual, social and family. Center Betania Ankasina, a Malagasy association founded in 1994, works with children and families and concentrates its efforts in the fields of health, social welfare, education and training. EXPECTED RESULTS Educational support (in preschool and literacy classes) for 869 girls and boys aged 3 to 12 is provided, the capacities of the educational staff of the partners are strengthened, the integration and retention of children in public primary schools are facilitated. . Community actors, in particular school management bodies, are supported to promote the social and educational integration of children, parents are supported in monitoring their childrens education. Advocacy in favor of education for the most vulnerable is carried out, educational tools are distributed to civil society and institutional actors, the capacities of partners are strengthened (governance, management).
