Work Detail Last June, the contribution of photovoltaic generation was 813 GWh, 41.2% more than in the same month of 2021. These are data from the latest Monthly Report on Non-Conventional Renewable Energies (NCRE) of the Chilean National Energy Council . According to said report, the generation of the major electrical systems was 7,064 GWh during last June, of that total, 1,802 GWh came from the NCRE. By technology, 45.1% (813 GWh) came from photovoltaic, 34.6% (624 GWh) from wind, 9.2% (166 GWh) from biomass, 9% (162 GWh) from power plants small run-of-the-river hydroelectric plants, 1.1% (19 GWh) from concentrated solar power (CSP) and 1% (18 GWh) from geothermal energy. As a whole, from June to June, the NCRE increased its contribution by 21.8%, while in the same period conventional sources decreased by 0.7%. The installed capacity of NCRE reaches a total of 10,071 MW, 34.1% of the total electrical capacity in the electrical systems in Chile. Of that capacity, 5,148 MW are from solar sources; 3,719 MW, wind; 617 MW, mini hydro; 439 MW, biomass; 108 MW, CSP; and 40 MW, geothermal. According to the report, there are 4,077 photovoltaic MW and 724 wind MW under construction, for a total of 291 projects, with a date of entry into operations until June 2025.
