The Chinese construction company PowerChina announced on May 21 that it had concluded a contract with the public electricity distribution company in Zambia , Zesco , for the construction of three solar power plants with a capacity of 200 megawatts each.
They will serve the district of Chibombo in the Central Province and those of Chirundu and Siavonga in the south of the country.
This contract, worth $548 million according to the local press, was signed on May 20 by the two parties, meeting by videoconference, PowerChina said. |
