Work Detail April 22 (Renewables Now) - Latin American power company AES Gener has plans to build a 107.5-MW onshore wind farm in the Chilean region of Biobio. Paperwork for the environmental review, publicly available as of this week, shows that the company intends to invest USD 224 million (EUR 186.2m) to realise the San Matias wind project. The wind farm would feature 25 units of 4.3-MW turbines erected across the region’s Los Angeles commune. Its annual production output is estimated at 358 GWh. AES Gener set a February 2022 date to begin construction. If all goes as planned, San Matias will be up and running in November 2023, according to the filing with the regional environmental permitting agency.
