Armenia Meghri Bcp ModernisationProject Description Following Successful Modernisation Of Three Other Bcps On Armenia S Northern Border Which Were Co Financed By The Eib And The Eu Nip And Implemented Under Coordination Of The Undp During 2012 2017 Rehabilitation Of The Meghri Bcp Is A Key Infrastructure Priority For The Government Of Armenia As Indicated In Armenia S Transport Development Strategy 2020 The Physical Part Of The Project Involves Demolition Of The Existing Outdated Buildings At The Bcp Construction Of New Facilities And Installation Of Modern Equipment For Performance Of Border Customs And Other Controls In Line With Current Standards Upon Completion The Project Is Expected To I Improve Safety Security And Efficiency Of The Border Crossing Process Ii Improve Armenia S Connectivity With Neighbouring Countries And Iii Enhance Country S Transit Potential Thus Enabling Armenia To Become A Prominent Regional And International Transit Hub
